The Holiday Season - What an Adventure!

We just returned from a tour of the Midwest. We visited Kansas City and Dallas over the past few weeks. Here's an update...

The first leg of our trip was to Kansas City to visit A's family. Here are some pictures:

The second leg of our trip was to visit J's family in Dallas. Here are some pictures:

C and her new Doll and Cradle

It was a very merry time and we had a lot of fun. Some highlights include: almost everyone being sick with the flu, eating WAY too much food, playing games, catching up, watching C open her gifts and love her new doll, luckily avoiding all weather delays by a day, and enjoying the break from school.

Happy New Year to all and we wish you the best in 2008!

Shout Hooray

C's had a Birthday, Shout Hooray,
We even sang to her that day,
One year old now and so wise too,
Happy Birthday, to You!

We decided to do a little party for our big 1 year old last night and invited the whole trumpet studio. Our small little living room was maxed out! Although the birthday girl wasn't feeling very well, she partook of the festivities, mainly in enjoying a new musical toy, eating cake and ice cream, and showing off her mad new walking skills.

Way to go- we are so proud of you and grateful to have had you in our family this last year. You amaze us everyday, and we love you!

Honesty is the Best Policy

Well, so I finally ate the cookies I made to give away to those J and I home and visit teach at church. Let's be honest now. But not only was I honest here on the blog, the whole reason I ate them was surrounded by honesty.

I made the sugar cookie dough last Sunday, then cut, cooked and frosted the cookies on Tuesday. I even wrapped them up on plates and delivered 2 or the 4 plates on Wednesday.

Come Friday, I still haven't delivered the other two plates- it has been super cold and super busy, therefore no little elves have gone prancing around to deliver more sugar and pure joy.

As I was cooking the 10 lbs of mashed potatoes for our Ward Christmas Party tonight, the cookies were looking really good- but honestly, they were looking pretty sad. You know how the colored sugar sprinkles get all melty and gushy once they have sat in the frosting for over a day? Yeah, well, envision 3 days of melty and gushy- eh :( Sad looking cookies.

Therefore, being the brave woman that I am, I ate three of them right away. Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm. Guess who is making more cookies on Sunday. They have to be given out by Wednesday night because we leave early Thursday! Good luck, eh?
