Guilty Pleasures

In the spirit of Halloween, I have decided to help my growing belly, grow some more by indulging in a few guilty pleasures- I should have made a pumpkin shirt to proudly show the increasing roundness!

1. Homemade sugar cookies- I had better get rid of these quickly, since I think I ate about 10, or more, yesterday!

2. "Helping" my child eat her Halloween candy- heck, I pushed the girl up and down Main Street and in and out of little shops- I even helped select the more 'choice' items over Tootsie Rolls and/or another Dum-Dum, (despite the fact that they are her favorite for now). I deserve a little payments, eh?

The wrapper pile, 20 minutes after leaving the Treat Parade. To the left, my damage done alone; the right, the candies I lovingly helped her eat! Hopefully Dad will be around tonight to help little Jessie do some neighborhood trick-o-treating, and maybe he can help me slow down!

Halloween comes but once a year, so make it count, right!

Jessie, the Yodelin' Cowgirl...

C is going to be Jessie from Toy Story 2 for Halloween (Thanks Mama Bear!). Last night we had an activity at our church and took some cute pictures before we left. Just so you know, Jessie is by far C's favorite movie character in the world. She loves Jessie - not to mention Woody and Buzz - but really she loves Jessie.

Also, the beautiful fall leaves are almost gone, but we took advantage of them the other day and took some annual Fall pictures of C.

So, Fall is arriving in temperature in addition to the pretty leaves. Here's a picture of how C wanted to be bundled up in her stroller on a recent walk. Sunglasses are her new favorite things and she loves to dress herself - notice her interesting attire in the other photos...

On a side note, our beloved Civic met the end of its days last week. With serious engine and multiple repair problems, we had to put it out of commission. It served us well and ended up 12 years old with 170,000 miles on it - it maybe could have gone another 100,000, but the repairs just didn't make sense for our situation... Unfortunately.

Through a frantic 4-day research, test drive, and deeply evaluating weekend, we found a great deal. Meet our new Toyota Camry (well, new to us...) Thanks so much to those who helped us in all the ways you did!

GG came to town

GG (great grandma) came to town for a 55 year reunion of her college graduating class. She also visited with us for a few days. She was kind to put up with J's busy schedule, sleeping on a couch, and cold weather.
Beautiful Fall foliage

We went to a local orchard and took a wagon ride through the orchard, drank fresh apple cider and homemade donuts, posed for goofy pictures, and went through the petting zoo.
