The Great Discovery

Last night we were at a faculty party in which many young families were in attendance. After the kids all ate, they ran upstairs to play with toys. Each parent took a turn going up to check on the kids since there was quite a range of ages of children. When it came time for J to go check on the kiddos he saw they had turned on the TV and they were all so interested in what they were watching. In fact, Miss C asked her dad why we had never showed her this show before. He looked to the TV to see what they were all so excited about and laughed out loud at seeing The Lawrence Welk Show playing! Miss C had even organized her little brother and another young girl to dance together the way the couples on the show were dancing while she headed up the mike singing using the remote! All the way home they were telling us all about this 'awesome' show and asked if it was on Netflix so they could watch it again and again. ("Mom, it had singing and different kinds of dancing and it was just so cool!")
They were so disappointed when we said it isn't and that we would probably have to wait until we visited grandparents who could DVR this show and watch it while at their home!

I told them about how I first saw this show when I was a very young girls and at my grandparents. After my grandpa, who was a farmer, had worked a full day he would come in and lay back in his recliner to watch it too! They thought that was so great and wondered why it isn't really available to watch or why there aren't shows like this now! Great Discovery kiddos!

Cruising into the New Year

Almost a month ago, we were able to go on an cruise with my parents, siblings and their spouses. My mama has been attempting a trip like this for approximately 5 years! So many thanks go out to her for finally making this happen- it was great!

What follows are a few pics and highlights from the cruise.

At Uxmal, a Mayan civilization similar to Chitzen Itza.
Climbing the buildings at Uxmal with my sis and bro-in-law.
The whole crew in front the main temple at Uxmal.
The love birds who sponsored our trip- way to be a good sport Daddy-O!
In Cozumel, relaxing and playing on the beach, snokeling, water sports, kayaking, and eating good food!
My beautiful sister and the token child allowed on the trip- the calmest, cutest, best dancer of a baby!
Dressing up
Our family loves us some Karaoke- luckily, there were a few other groups we saw in their each night so we could each balance each other out in terms of hogging the mike! We also attended a few trivia games, and after winning each game we attended, we decided we should find something else to do so people didn't hate us way to much! Thankfully, the trivia folks, and karaoke folks were not the same- oh, and they weren't the same people we kept seeing at the soft serve ice cream stand! That's what happens when a group of 10 active Mormons go on a cruise together! Lots of wholesome recreational activities!
