TRUMPET5

Rarely do I get on here and share much in the way of job-related items, but thought I'd share a link to a neat story done about our trumpet studio at USM:

In March, I took a group of trumpet students to Washington DC to participate in the National Trumpet Competition. Not only was it great that they made it to the semi-finals, but they advanced to the finals and really played well. It took place during March Madness and it felt like we were the cinderella story - only we weren't Butler!

I wanted to brag on them... Hope you don't mind.

Enjoy the article! And as they say down here - "Southern Miss - To The Top!"

March-ing into Spring

Too much happening to keep up with regular blog posts, but for our own future reference, here are some of the many notable events from March 2011:

More family visits from Grandma S and G.G.- we logged lots of hours with good food and the remembrance of how great it is to do a puzzle (3 in 4 days, or more!)
We celebrated birthday's of G.G. and Daddy-O with a delicious Reese's PB/Brownie trifle- oh man-it's good stuff!
Spending time with Grandmama
Showing off our tree climbing skills- Our big man can now get higher than his older sister and sneaks up there faster than I would think possible while I'm locking the door and baby in hand!

Also, we had a great visit with Unca J. and Auntie S. on their way back from Spring Break, but somehow I am empty-handed as far as photos go!

The birthday boy

The deliciousness that helped the celebration- He loves Butterfingers
Miss Ma'am cut her first tooth at 6mo and 1day...hence the chewing on frozen frog chewy toy
This kid cracks me up at least daily. He got these shades a recent art/craft festival in town, and hardly ever takes them off. The toga thing are my workout shorts he decided to add to the ensemble that would always include his pacifier and blanket if it were up to him!
Last but not least, here is how I found the babe after being left for 1-2 minutes with her older sister...glad she was willing to share her valuables!
