Hell-p!

While Grandma was in town life seemed to be going smoothly...the picture below even captures Grandma and two kiddos smiling, hardly ever caught in a photo! Little did I know the changes that were about to occur in my life...dummm, dummm, dummmmmmm!

During Grandma's visit, we all thought it would be pretty fun to venture out to a local town...Friends had recommended taking visitors to a little ice cream place in none other than, Hell. Since it is not too far, we began our journey with Grandma in tow, coming up with all kinds of puns and planning photo opportunities- who wouldn't want a picture of themselves in Hell?! Right? There is even a littl' Devil Door, through which, if a child passes, they receive a free serving of ice cream. "Ha, ha," we thought- let's have our little nina pass through the littl' Devil door just for kicks and giggles, and then she can get her gross pink ice cream (cotton candy flavor- ugh!) for free.
Somehow, our sweet little girl, has become a monster. (I think it was the Devil door, or our excessive use of the word Hell within an hours time!)

Both parents are now frazzled with this little one, especially when it comes to how to discipline a toddler with love (in this case, a very manipulative one). Your help is needed!

What is the best parenting and/or discipline book in your opinion? I've read a few, but could use more suggestions, since I don't feel like I've gotten the right guidance for this stage of life/parenting. Come one, come all, leave some books, and even short descriptions of it, or how it helped you!

8 weeks

Our cute boy just keeps getting bigger. When I see pictures I take of him, even immediately after I take them, I can't believe how big he looks! For your viewing pleasure...
Is that my 8 week old wearing 3-6 month stuff!
(So strange for me, because his sister could still fit in a few newborn outfits at this same time, and all of her 0-3 month stuff.)

As you can see, we are now into the smiling phase- so much fun!

One more first

With all the beautiful weather, something exciting has been in the air. I finally just took the plunge and decided that I was going to cut the nina's hair....and so I did. Baby mullet leftovers- gone.Salon de Bergman is now open for business.

Virgin ears no more

Yes, C is a little copy cat, repeating almost everything said to her. This means that we are reminded of phrases and words we say that should probably be excluded from our vocabulary. Who really wants to hear a 2 year old saying, "That sucks!," or "Hommie don't roll like that." Just kidding.

However, the title of this post would be referring on yours truly, who after having untouched earlobes for 20-some, has now decided, for no particular reason at all, to end that streak.
Other news of late would include a great spring break including back-to-back days of Mommy/Daughter, Daddy/Daughter dates of visiting the local indoor pool for the first time. One of those days was the first time the nina saw "The Little Mermaid." She couldn't have had a better day, I'm sure!

We also had the great pleasure of having G.G. and Aunt D come to visit from Texas. J gave them the royal tour of the town, plus some because Aunt D was born in the same hospital that our two kiddos were born in, and lived they lived here until she was 8. They saw their old home and the school Aunt D attended.

Besides that we did some good ol' having fun at home with playdoh, empty boxes, dancing and just enjoying each others company and the silly thing our little nina says.

And lets not forget cuddling with our cute little guy. He's just so snuggly, there was no want for extra holding going on here!
