While we were there, I went exploring with the kiddos, and also as a family when J had some free time. The area was beautiful and we truly enjoyed our first family camping experiences, except the uncomfortable cot mattresses- at least it wasn't the ground!
Along the way here were a few of the things we saw/did:

A fun 'train' ride for our cute nina! This was at a great petting farm, and she wanted to go all by herself. She had the most serious look on her face the entire ride. Unfortunately, the previous ride was almost full of kids, and she was the only one on this trip and around the apple trees!

J and the llama at the petting farm

Our cutie making friends with the bunnies up close- she could almost touch them, and was very excited about that!

Wild hair on a windy day along the shoreline- you can catch a glimpse of Dad and the big boy in the background.

Our cute fam at a historic lighthouse on the shoreline

Our daily activity while our big baby napped. She befriended the food service workers, and took them personalized paintings- too cute.

Meeting Dad after a fun afternoon concert at the bandstand.

This is beach closest to our camp, about a 15-20 minute drive. We went driving to find the lake, and didn't know exactly what we would find. We didn't quite expect a beach like this, and came ill-prepared to get wet. The nina managed to get soaked and rode home with only her princess undies on!
The big, happy babe loved the sand and water and tried to jump in too, but I held on tightly, and he only managed to eat a small handful of sand.

Although families were able to attend with the instructors, there was only one other young family, and the children only spoke Russian. Needless to say, we had to find other friends for the nina- After the first few meals there (all in a commons lodge) she said, "We don't have any friends, do we?" We made sure to sit by other adults that looked kid-friendly from then on, and she would talk to them like they were her best buds- Thanks Phil and Matt!Overall a successful trip and experience! I got spoiled by not having to cook (more than a smore) or really clean for over a week, and therefore enjoyed many an hour reading a good books! Doesn't get much better!
