What are you THANKFUL for?

Meet our "gratitude turkey" -

We decided at the beginning of November to create a "gratitude turkey" to help our little family realize all the we have been blessed with. Every evening after our family dinner, we each draw and write on a turkey feather what we are thankful for. Our turkey is stuck on the wall of our dining room. This is our way of counting our many blessings. Here is some of the list:

Flowers, naps, our kids, daddy daughter dates, ducks, balls, friends, heat, pancakes, football, mommy, balloons, music, ice cream, the gospel, and doggies.

This has been a good thing for us. We really are blessed and it's great to see our kids become aware of the blessings they enjoy.

What are you thankful for?

That's great! Every year we do a gratitude tree, where we put fall-colored leaves on an empty tree, and by Thanksgiving it's full of leaves. The kids like it, and it helps us keep thankful hearts.

I'm thankful for three healthy babies, a happy marriage, candy corn left over from Halloween, the show "30 Rock", having outlets for creativity, the two new sweaters with super long sleeves I bought yesterday for a crazy steal of a deal, and for feeling peace.
