I love that my husband has new and different ways to think of things, especially when it comes to parenting. He thinks of things I would never think of, sometimes to my frustration, however, most of the time, it is to my great pleasure. Those times I think..."Genius...pure genius!"
Case in point: Last night we were sitting down to dinner. The nina wasn't too excited about our meal choice of Chinese food. Suddenly, The Genius, gets the idea to sing, "If You're Happy and You Know It," and insert eating various parts of the meal, especially the selected vegetables and rice. Without even thinking that she had not wanted to eat those same vegetables and rice 2 minutes earlier, the nina starts to scarf them down; we are talking handfuls of green beans, carrots, peas, brocolli, and rice! Wow! She is a pretty good eater, but never that good!
I'm sure our laughing at her, and the situation, in a positive way, only encouraged her to eat more. Still, this is a secret that we will have to remember. I wish I could have captured it on video...maybe next time. Then you all can witness The Genius at work!

Very impressive. I'll keep this tactic in mind. Good job, Genius!
Hey Genius, That was remarkably clever of you. What new tricks will you be performing. Hope they're just as good as this one.

Note: This is how we got Jeff to eat at BYU. j/k Phil
