This cute cowboy has turned 2!
Bub's birthday fell during Dad's trip up north to finish his degree, but because his sister had been helping him count down to the exact day of his birth, he woke up that morning and requested cake! Smart kiddo! I'd been planning on doing cake once Dad was back from his trip, but that was not going to cut it for this little guy!
His loving Ya-Ya went right to work and let both kids help mix and poor the cupcakes to have a celebration that night.
Dad returned a few days later and now we were ready for celebration 2 of 3. Right now he is pretty facinated by all things that 'go' and had requested a train cake, and stuck with that request for multiple days. I did my internet research and combined it with a few ideas of my own and those of a mechanically minded grandpa, to come up with this:
Besides watching out for toothpicks that held it together, it was a super fun birthday cake(...so fun that big sister requested a rainbow train cake for her next birthday!)
We love having him around- he makes us all laugh each day, and he knows it too!
