Last night we went to a 4th of July BBQ and party. We were going to host one at our place for the trumpet studio, but then the party quickly expanded to include all the brass section, and tripled the number of mouths to feed. Luckily, the trombone teacher offered that the party could happen up at the home he is staying at. We had heard that it had a beautiful view of the ocean from the deck, and that we would be able to watch the fireworks that would go off at the harbor.
As you can tell, the view was amazing. The picture doesn't really let you see the Channel Islands, but they are there off in the distance.
Caitlin was passed around and around and around as you will see. Because the party grew and grew and grew in the few hours before it started, we had to make a last minute run to the grocery store, which meant some last minute food preparation needed to be done. Don't think we were trying to pawn of the beautiful babe, but it sure was nice to have two free hands to cut up fruit and veggies!

Everybody loves Caitlin!
This next girl, Meghan, fell in love with Caitlin a week ago. She goes to school in Ohio, just a few hours from Ann Arbor, and has even said she would love to come babysit! We'll see about that, but she did come to me after a while and declared Caitlin needed a clean diaper, and insisted on changing it herself, much to Jason's embarrassment!

We had brought her pack 'n play with, and put it in a bedroom, but with all the noise and excitement of the evening, she had a hard time falling asleep. Once she was out, she was gone!, all the way until we had to wake her up to put her in her car seat to head home! She is quite the trooper.
Overall, it was a fun evening for all. Jason and I enjoyed being out and about for an evening, which doesn't happen very often. He always loves to have 'his girls' with to meet his colleagues and have a good time.
