Last night my sister Emily had a healthy little boy, yet to be named. He was 8lb, 5oz and was 21 inches long. I'm glad to report that both mom and baby are doing well. His brother, Tommy (4) was soooo excited to have a little baby brother. Emily said that Tommy wanted to touch him and unswaddle him so he could touch his fingers and toes, and even asked if he could pick his nose! Kids!
When she called to tell me the good news she mentioned that there was another young lady in the room over who was induced at about the same time as she was. This woman was progressing much faster than Emily, even thought it was the woman's first baby, and it was Emily's second. This woman was even at the point to start pushing before Emily was even near that far along, however, the poor woman pushed for so long that baby Cannon was born first! How miserable!
