"So what are you doing right now?"

This was the first things my mom asked when she called the other day. I paused for a brief moment, thinking, 'She is never going to believe this....but...'

Me: "Caitlin's sleeping and ...I'm quilting..."

Mom: "Really! I mean I knew you were a domestic goddess (which, by the way, she means I am nothing even close to resembling the servant of a domestic goddess) but I didn't know you could quilt (or sew or do anything more than iron a shirt or sew on a loose button). Who taught you how to quilt?"

Me: "No one really, but I found this easy pattern on a friend of a friend of a friend's blog (that's how it goes in the big blogosphere). It's to be given to young injured veterans on Veteran's Day. I felt it was such a good cause that I'd try to make one! What do you think of that?!"

So, with a pair of sewing scissors and a ruler, I started! Here is what I've done so far. I will most certainly post the progress.

Other stuff I'm 'doing right now,' include playing with the cutest kid on the planet, who happens to be posing as a Coke poster child. Actually, she just loves to play with everything and anything that she can find in the kitchen, including empty juice and pop bottles.
